My first concert was Oz Fest. I was definitely not mentally prepared for I saw at that concert.
My teen is going to her first, we’ll say grown up concert.” She’s been to concerts like Selena Gomez, but that’s a kiddie, preteen concert, and absolutely nothing like the Wiz Khalifa / Fall Out Boy concert that she will be attending today.
I tried to prepare her for what she will see, and of course because she is a teen everything I say goes in one ear and right out the other, because she knows all about how concerts really are. I tried telling her that she will see people doing and selling drugs at this concert. She says no mom this is not that kind of concert. I tried telling her that people will probably sneak in weapons either knives or guns or both, and once again I was told no mom it’s not that kind of concert. I tried informing her that there will be the occasional person walking around half naked with body paint on, and she will most likely see people making out or having sex on the field, but once again teen knows best.
It will be interesting to see what she has to say after the concert.
What was your first concert experience? Did you let your teen attend any concerts yet, if so what was his/her experience?
Who doesn’t love to travel? We take one family trip a year to Ocean City, MD in September. My husband and oldest daughter are into going to car shows and one weekend a year there is a major car show down there that we all attend. It’s not just fun for them, its fun for us all.
There is so much to do there. They have miniature golf, the shops on the boardwalk, and my favorite, the beach. I love the beach in Ocean City. It is so clean and pretty.
There are many different restaurants to visit as well. We usually just grab Burger King or McDonalds our first night there. We usually arrive late because it’s a 6 hour drive, and with the kids… yeah. We cook dinner as well, because we stay in an actual apartment. It costs about half as much as a hotel would, and there is more room for us to spread out. Plus, the apartments we stay in allow pets which are great for our pups!
Great time with great friends! Can’t wait to go next month!
Where do you like to travel to?
Another touchy subject. I have to wonder…
17 Month Old Found in Pool
I saw this on my local news this evening. The parents of this poor baby are able to walk around, go to the store, go to work, and continue living as best they can without their little one.
18 Month old Left in Car
Parents get arrested and charged for accidentally leaving little kids in cars. However, parents who neglect to watch their young children are not held accountable if they drown in a pool..
Growing up in the ’80’s, I remember being left in the car, because I didn’t want to go into the store. I know it is much different, because I had a window open, and the kids that are being *forgotten* are left in closed vehicles. Even with the windows open, parents are getting in serious trouble.
Where were the parents of the 17 month old? Why were they not watching the toddler play outside? Why are authorities punishing one and not the other? Both situations are horrific deaths for these little ones.
Don’t get me wrong, I feel deeply sorry for these poor little ones who suffer these horrific deaths. I still have to question.. why do these parents not get in trouble when their kids are found deceased in the pool, but parents who forget their child in the car get charged by the authorities?
I know, i know. Summer isn’t over yet. Thank god! I love summer! Summer is my favorite season. When summer is gone, I will be sad. I decided to share with you 6 of the things I will miss when summer is gone.
Flip flops – I love my flip flops. You can never have to many. I wear them all summer long except for when I’m at work. I would wear them to work if I could. Really wish I could.
Pool – I really enjoy laying out by the pool while my crazy girls are playing in the water. It’s very relaxing.
Summer Sun – It’s nice and warm. They days are longer. Keeps me in a good mood. Love the sun.
Clothes – I absolutely hate winter clothes. They are too bulky, and well I just don’t like them. I love wearing shorts, and tank tops.
Cook outs- Who doesn’t love a good cook out. They are a great way to get together with friends and eat, talk, play volleyball or baseball. Good food, good people, and good times!
Car shows – Okay, I know that’s a strange one. My husband and kids are obsessed with volkswagons. We attend numerous car shows during the summer. We like it because it’s something they all like to do. Great family fun times. We are looking forward to the biggest car show in Ocean City, MD in September.
I love summer and wish it would stick around a bit longer than it does.
